SOP FOR OPERATING THE PASS BOX

1.0       Objective:

           The objective of this standard operating procedure is to lay down the procedure for operating the Pass box (clean cabinet).

2.0       Scope:

       This SOP covers operating procedure of Pass box (clean cabinet) 

3.0       Responsibility:

               Microbiologist: Responsible for operation, calibration and maintenance of the instrument. Maintain required record.

        QA Officer/QAM: Review the records and governing the document.

4.0       Procedure:

4.1          Clean the inner side of the pass box with disinfectant.

4.2          Connect the three-pin plug to the mains supply.

4.3          Switch on the mains and instrument.

4.4          Turn the U.V light ON 30 minutes prior to use.

4.5          Open the door & keep the sterilized material in the pass box, and close the door. 

4.6  When required, open the door of pass box in the microbiology's sterile room, remove the material and close the door. Make sure U.V light is on when the door closes.

4.7   After completion of the work, switch off the mains & instrument.

4.8   After completion of the work, clean the pass box with disinfectant.

NOTE:  Replace the U.V light after 2000 hrs of use.
