5.9.1       The laboratory has documented and implemented procedure Quality Process for assuring quality of tests and in-house calibration undertaken by the laboratory. The resulting data is being recorded in such a way that trends are detectable and where feasible statistical techniques are being applied to review the results. The monitoring is planned and contains, but not limited to, the following :

a)    Use of certified reference material / internal quality control using secondary reference material;

b)    Participation in proficiency testing / inter laboratory comparison;

c)     Replicate testing using same or different test method;

d)    Retesting or recalibration of retained items;

5.9.2       Quality control data is analyzed and where it is found to be outside pre-draft criteria planned action is taken to correct the problem and to prevent incorrect results from being reported.
