1.0 Objective:
The objective of this Standard
Operating Procedure is to lay down the procedure for operating the Hot Air
Oven.
2.0 Scope:
This SOP covers operating
procedure of Hot Air Oven
3.0 Responsibility:
Junior Research officer,
Research Officer: Responsible for operation of the instrument as per procedure.
QA Officer/QA Manager: Review
the records and governing the document.
4.0 Procedure:
4.1. Press ‘Set’ key to preset desired
performance parameter.
4.2. The LED will display the last setting. First
set the temperature by course adjustment and than by fine adjustment. Move knob
clockwise to increase the temperature or anticlockwise to decrease the
temperature until the LED displays the desired temperature.
4.3. Another knob is also available for the temperature for the three types of temperature adjustment.
1) 0 à 0FF 2) 1 à Low
3) 2 à Medium 4) 3 à High
4.4. Now the unit will automatically maintain the set temperature.
4.5. Load the glassware and close the door
properly.
4.6. Connect the three-pin plug to the mains
supply.
4.7 Switch ON the mains and instrument and
observe that the LED of temperature indicator displays the ambient value. Now
the unit is ready to set the performance parameter.
4.8 Check the
temperature on daily basis and note down as per given in Annexure – 1.
