SOP FOR OPERATION OF BOD INCUBATOR.



1.0    Objective

           The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure is to lay down the procedure for operating the BOD Incubator.

2.0       Scope
            This SOP covers operating procedure of BOD Incubator.

3.0       Responsibility
            Jr. Research Officer/ Research Officer: Responsible for operation of instrument as per procedure and maintain the record.
            QA Officer/QAM: Review the records and governing the document.

4.0       Procedure

4.1       Switch “ON” the main switch of instrument.

4.2       Electronic Temperature controller will show current chamber temperature.

4.3      Place the samples to be tested in the stainless steel wire mesh shelves are provided. The close the door of the incubator.

4.4    Set the appropriate temperature by pressing the “PUSH” switch and simultaneously turn the first Potentiometer Knob clock wise or anti clockwise. Also take help of the Second
            Potentiometer Knob. Then release the “PUSH” switch.

4.5     When we released the push switch the digits on the Electronic Temperature Controller will again return to the present Chamber temperature.

4.6  If we want to see the set temperature you may press the push switch again. After setting the temperature it is observed that indicator bulb glows to indicate that the power to the heater is ON”.

5.0       Precautions:

5.1   Keep the incubator atleast 1 feet away from the walls backside.

5.2    Do not switch ON and OFF the mains switch frequently as it will cause damage to the compressor.

5.3    Do not leave the door open for an extended period.

5.4   Load the samples quickly but gently and close the door properly with the locking the front lock.

5.5  Avoid the placement of sample so close to each other so as to allow the proper circulation of heated air for maintaining even condition through out the chamber.

6.0        Routine maintenance:

6.1   Clean instrument with isopropyl alcohol. During cleaning, the instrument should be off.

6.2       Wipe the instrument with clean and dry cloth.
