The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure is to lay down
the procedure for operating the distill
water unit.
2.0 Scope:
This SOP covers operating procedure of distill
water unit .
3.0
Responsibility:
Laboratory Assistant: Responsible
for operation and maintenance as per procedure.
Head of Department: Responsible for
maintenance, timely as per schedule.
QA
Officer/QA Manager: Review the records and governing the document.
4.0 Procedure:
4.1
Start water supply of R.O. unit by turning knob -1.
4.2
Switch on the power supply of R.O. unit.
4.3
Start water supply of condenser of distillation unit & it must be
continuous during
distillation
4.4
Turn the knob 2 i.e. RO unit which joins to distillation unit &
maintain the water
Level of distillation unit.
4.5 Switch on the power supply of distilled unit.
4.6 Connect the outlet of distillation unit i.e. distilled water to storage container.
4.7 After completion of distillation, switch off the distillation unit & RO unit.
4.8 Close the knob 1 & 2 and water supply of condenser water.
4.9 Check electrical conductivity, silica & Colour retention of KMnO4 weekly & record the result in XXX/FRM/000.
4.5 Switch on the power supply of distilled unit.
4.6 Connect the outlet of distillation unit i.e. distilled water to storage container.
4.7 After completion of distillation, switch off the distillation unit & RO unit.
4.8 Close the knob 1 & 2 and water supply of condenser water.
4.9 Check electrical conductivity, silica & Colour retention of KMnO4 weekly & record the result in XXX/FRM/000.
5.0
Maintenance:
5.1 Clean the glass equipment with
hydrochloric acid
5.2 Check the electric connection
5.3 Clean equipment out side with dry cloth
