Where no formal assurance of the quality of external services and supplies is available, thelaboratory must have procedures to ensure that the purchased materials and the services comply with the specified requirements. Records must be maintained of all suppliers, from whom support services, equipment or supplies are obtained. Documented procedures must exist for the purchase, receipt and storage of consumables whose properties could affect the quality of testing and related activities. Where possible, the laboratory must ensure that purchased equipments and consumables are not used until they have been inspected, calibrated or otherwise verified as complying with the laboratory‟s requirements
