of Important Terms & Abbreviations used in this Quality Manual are as
follows:

QUALITY
|
Degree to which a set of inherent
characteristics fulfills requirements

DOCUMENTED PROCEDURE
|
A written procedure which describes an
activity or work operation.
|
RECORD
|
A Document which furnishes Objective
Evidence of activities performed or results obtained, e.g., Test Results,
Calibration Reports etc.
|
QUALITY POLICY
|
Overall Intentions & Directions of an
Organization related to Quality as formally expressed by Top Management.
|
QUALITY OBJECTIVE
|
Something sought, or aimed for, related to
quality.
|
CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT
|
Recurring activity to increase the ability
to fulfill requirements.
|
INFRASTRUCTURE
|
System of facilities, equipment &
services needed for the operation of an organization.
|
PROCESS
|
Set of interrelated or interacting
activities which transforms inputs into outputs.

MEASUREMENT PROCESS
|
Set of operations to determine the value
of quantity.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
|
Customers perception of the degree to
which the customers requirements have been fulfilled.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP’s)
|
These are detailed written operating
instructions of how the particular Procedure is followed to achieve specific
quality requirement.

FORMATS
|
Forms in which Test Reports, Log Sheets
and other reports are generated while performing quality activities are
called Quality Records.

CUSTOMER
|
Individual / Organization sending samples
for Testing / Investigation / Calibration.

TESTING PERSONNEL

Laboratory personnel who performs testing.
