LEAD STANDARD SOLUTION [ 1 ppm Pb ]

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

Dilute 1 volume of Lead standard solution. (100 ppm Pb) to 100 volume with distilled water immediately before use.

LEAD STANDARD SOLUTION [100 ppm pb]

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dilute 1 volume of lead std. Son. (0.1 %) to 10 volume with water immediately before use.

MORDANT BLACK II MIXTURE

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Mix 9.9 gms of Sodium chloride and 0.1 gm of Eriochrome black T

NITRIC ACID (2 M)

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dilute 12.6 ml of Nitric Acid with sufficient water to produce 100 ml.

NITRATE STD SOLUTION (2 PPM No3)

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dilute 1 ml of nitrate standard solution. (100 ppm) to 50 ml with water.

NITRIC ACID - DILUTE

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dilute 106 ml of Nitric Acid to 1000 ml with distilled water.

10 % W/V SOLUTION OF POTASSIUM CHLORIDE

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 10 gm of Potassium Chloride in sufficient distilled water to produce 100 ml

POTASSIUM DICHROMATE SOLUTION (7.0 %w/v)

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 7.0 gm Potassium Dichromate in distilled water and dilute to 100 ml with distilled water.

POTASSIUM NITRATE SOLUTION [0.163 %w/v]

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 0.163 gm Potassium Nitrate in 100 ml with distilled water.

POTASSIUM MERCURY- IODIDE SOLUTION, ALKALINE

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

To 3.5 gm of potassium iodide, add 1.25 gm of mercuric chloride dissolved in 80 ml of water, add a cold saturated solutions of mercuric chloride in water, with constant stirring untill slight red ppts. Remain. Dissolve 12 gms of sodium hydroxide in the solution, add a little more of the cold saturated solutions. Of mercuric chloride and sufficient distilled water to produce 100 ml. Allow to stand and decant the clear supernatant liquid

POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE 0.02 M

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 1.6 gm of Potassium Permanganate in 450 ml of distilled water, heating on a water bath for 1 hour. Cooling, filtering through a sintered glass filter and adding sufficient water to produce 500 ml.

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION [SATURATED]

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

Dissolve 100 gms of Potassium chloride in 250 ml of warm distilled water (temp. about 60 – 70 degree transfer the solution in reagent bottle. Crystals settle out next day. Use the supernatant liquid as saturated solution of Potassium chloride.

SILVER NITRATE - 0.1 M

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 1.7 gm of silver nitrate to sufficient distilled water to produce 100 ml.

SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION [0.0824 % w/v]

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 0.0824 gm Sodium Chloride in 100 ml with distilled water.

SODIUM HYDROXIDE [0.01 M]

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dilute 10 ml of 0.1 M Sodium Hydroxide to 100 ml with distilled water.

SODIUM HYDROXIDE [1.0 N]

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 40 gm of Sodium Hydroxide to 1000 ml with distilled water. Cool and make up volume with same water.

SULPHURIC ACID 1 M

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

To 100 ml of volumetric flask add 60 ml of distilled water cool & carefully add 5.4 ml of sulphuric acid ( 98%) and allow to cool at room temp & make up to 100 ml.

THIOACETAMIDE REAGENT

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Add 1 ml of a thioacetamide solution (A) to 0.2 ml of thioacetamide solution (B).

ARSENIC STANDARD SOLUTION (10 ppm As

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

Dissolve 0.330 gm of Arsenic Trioxide in 5 ml of 2 M sodium hydroxide & dilute to 250 ml with distilled water. Dilute 1 ml of this solution to 100 ml with distilled water.
